The International Network of Antifascist Trade Unions is an informal network of trade unions to fight the far right and their anti-worker, anti-union agenda.
All unions affiliated to the ITUC and its regional organisations can request to become members.
Its vision and aims are outlined in the “Manifesto”.
All over the world, far right, nationalist and populist forces – under different names and forms – are challenging the resilience of our democracies, promoting ideas of discrimination, intolerance, disintermediation, exclusion and oppression.
The world of work is and will always be on the other side: because it is work, which sets society on a path of progress, emancipation and justice; Work defines the human being certainly in its individual dimension, but also through its collective dimension. Work, whose respect and dignity are the basis of democracy itself.
The network has been launched by the Italian trade union confederation CGIL after the squad attack on 9 October 2021 and is at the moment coordinated by its International policies department.
